Civil Engineering Department
The Civil Engineering Department administers a five- year program designed to develop
the professional competence of a diverse student body to prepare students for the
practical solution of the technical problems of society while considering the ethical,
social, and economic implications of their work. As one of the oldest professions
in history, Civil Engineering encompasses a broad array specialized fields within
the three general categories
Mission of the Civil Engineering Program
Prepare distinguished graduates in the fields of civil engineering, qualified scientifically,
intellectually, and professionally to meet the requirements of the labor market.
This is while enhancing mechanisms for effective participation in community development,
encouraging continuous learning, and developing scientific and technological research
tools to achieve local leadership and influence regionally and internationally.
Aims of the Civil Engineering Program
- Offer a distinguished educational experience in civil engineering, covering specializations
of construction, public works, water resources and irrigation, in alignment with
modern scientific developments.
- Encourage participation in student activities both within and beyond the program
to enhance students’ creativity and ability to engage effectively.
- Connect theoretical knowledge with the requirements of the labor market, to prepare
graduates who are proficient and competitive.
- Promote the active involvement of faculty members and students in community service.
- Support and encourage scientific research across various fields of civil engineering.
- Enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the administrative staff in a way that
supports the aims of the program.
